Canucks frontrunners for Forsberg?
TheFourthPeriod.com

Peter Forsberg is trying to prove he can legitimately return to NHL action and the Ottawa Sun claims the Vancouver Canucks are the favorite to sign him.

Forsberg, 36, has been playing in the Karjala Cup in Finland this weekend and a number of teams are keeping a close eye on him.

The Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Rangers, Colorado Avalanche, Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators are among the teams reportedly interested in Forsberg.

Forsberg is believed to have an offer to play with AK Bars Kazan of the Russian KHL, which appears to be his backup plan if he's unable to sign with an NHL team.

A decision could come later this week after the tournament. So far, it seems like Forsberg's healthy enough to play. I'm not sure what kind of contract he'll secure, but I'd expect a number of incentive bonuses to be added to a contract. -- David Pagnotta
