Canucks hope Naslund, Morrison take pay cuts TheFourthPeriod.com
As the Canucks wait on Mats Sundin, the Vancouver Province reports the team is hoping to entice Markus Naslund and Brendan Morrison to take pay cuts.
The Canucks offered Sundin a two-year, $20 million contract, but the 37-year-old center is taking his time to weigh all of his options before making a decision.
The Province suggests the Canucks could try to re-sign Naslund and Morrison, at a reduced salary.
However, both players have received offers from other clubs and it's uncertain if they'll be returning to Vancouver.
According to the Province, the Canucks have offered Morrison a one-year, $1.9 million deal.
"We're filtering through teams still," Morrison's agent Kurt Overhardt told the paper.
