Canucks to pursue Demitra? TheFourthPeriod.com
The Vancouver Canucks will look to reshape their lineup for the start of the 2008-09 regular season and one of the areas of concern is goal-scoring.
It's uncertain if the club will retain the services of center Brendan Morrison and captain Markus Naslund, both of whom can become unrestricted free agents July 1.
According to various reports, Naslund is contemplating retirement and is expected to make a decision on his future in the coming weeks.
One player the Canucks could go after is impending UFA Pavol Demitra.
Demitra, who made $4.5 million with the Minnesota Wild this past season, is one of Canucks GM Mike Gillis' former clients.
Gillis, who was a player agent prior to accepting his new role with Vancouver, gave up his clientele to join the Canucks.
Demitra, 33, registered 15 goals and 39 assists for 54 points in 68 games with the Wild this season.
