The Toronto Maple Leafs have claimed goaltender Curtis McElhinney off waivers from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
McElhinney, 33, posted a 2-1-2 record in seven games with the Blue Jackets this season, along with a 2.39 goals-against-average and a .924 save percentage.
In 154 career NHL regular-season games with the Calgary Flames, Anaheim Ducks, Ottawa Senators, Phoenix Coyotes and Blue Jackets, McElhinney has posted a 45-59-12 record with a 2.96 goals-against-average and a .905 save percentage.
McElhinney is in the final year of his contract that pays him a total of $800,000 this season.
The native of London, Ontario, was originally drafted by the Flames in the sixth-round, 176th overall, of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
