Leafs continue to explore market

With plenty of drama surrounding the Toronto Maple Leafs lately, the team could take on even more headlines if they pull the trigger on a trade in the near future.

Maple Leafs GM Dave Nonis has been working the phone lines, but insists he isn't rushing into a move.

The Leafs are believed to be dangling winger Joffrey Lupul, who continues to recover from a broken finger.

Lupul, 31, is in the second-year of a five-year, $26.25 million contract.

He also has a limited no-trade clause, where he can list up to 16 teams he will not accept a move to.

Center Nazem Kadri, defenseman Cody Franson, and goaltender James Reimer are also up for grabs, but in the case of Kadri, the Leafs would want an upgrade at the center position if they were to package him in a deal.

Nonis and Leafs management has been reevaluated the team, with reports continue to surface over head coach Randy Carlyle's future. However, it's believed the team will make a trade before making a change behind the bench.
