Komarov inks 4-year contract

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed unrestricted free agent forward Leo Komarov to a four-year, $11.8 million contract.

Komarov, 27, played 52 games for Dynamo Moscow in the KHL during the 2013-14 season, posting 12 goals, 22 assists and 34 points with 42 penalty minutes and a plus-16 rating.

The 5-11, 198-pound forward won a bronze medal with Finland at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia and also participated in the 2014 World Championships in Minsk, Belarus.

Komarov was selected by Toronto in the sixth round, 180th overall, in the 2006 Entry Draft.

He played 42 games for the Maple Leafs in 2012-13, finishing fifth in the NHL in hits (176) and collecting nine points (four goals, five assists) with 18 penalty minutes.
