Drafted by Toronto in 2006, Komarov was a pesky force in the Leafs' lineup, helping them land in a playoff position for the first time in nine seasons.
Speaking to Sportsnet, Komarov called his time in the NHL "probably the best time of my life."
"I want to get back," Komarov said of the NHL. "It's a big goal for me for next season."
Komarov has had the opportunity to play a bigger role during his time with Dynamo, gaining more ice time, leading to a greater accumulation of points, registering 12 goals and 19 assists in 48 games. His performance in Moscow has also landed him a spot on Finland's national team in Sochi.
Komarov will be an unrestricted free agent come summer and is focused on getting back to the NHL, however possible.
"They've got good money in NHL, but it's not all about the money either," he said. "NHL is the best league you can play in."
