GM Nonis continues his search

The Toronto Maple Leafs can't seem to get on a proper roll lately, and frustrations are mounting for a team barely holding on to a playoff spot.

The Leafs have just two regulation wins in their last 17 games, dating back to Dec. 1 (one more in overtime and four others in a shootout), which has everyone on the club concerned.

After swapping John-Michael Liles, along with a prospect, for defenseman Tim Gleason, Leafs GM Dave Nonis remains on the hunt for a top-six forward.

It's believed the Leafs are willing to move the likes of forward Nazem Kadri and defenseman Jake Gardiner, if the right offer presented itself.

A number of teams have reportedly inquired about Gardiner's availability, including the New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia Flyers, and Edmonton Oilers, who are actively shopping center Sam Gagner.

The Leafs and Oilers have scouted each other throughout the season, but it's unclear if trade talks have progressed.

Nonis had also shown interest in Carolina Hurricanes star forward Jeff Skinner, but the team is no longer taking calls about his availability.
