Leafs to trade Pogge, sign MacDonald

TheFourthPeriod.com

According to various published reports, the Maple Leafs are on the verge of trading goaltender Justin Pogge to the Anaheim Ducks.

TSN first reported that the Leafs had a trade in place with the Ducks for a conditional draft pick.

Pogge told the Toronto Star he had heard of the trade and is looking forward to the change.

"I heard about it and I'm pretty excited, a fresh start somewhere new, so I think it's a good move," he said.

With Pogge no longer in the picture, the Leafs are already looking elsewhere for a replacement at the AHL level.

The Star is reporting the Leafs will soon announce the signing of Joey MacDonald, who spent last season with the New York Islanders.
