The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed unrestricted free agent goalie Jonas Gustavsson to a one-year, $810,000 contract.
Gustavsson, 24, could make an additional $90,000 in bonuses.
Nicknamed "The Monster," Gustavsson was being courted by several NHL teams, including the Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks and Dallas Stars.
Last season with Farjestad of the Swedish Elite League, Gustavsson posted a 1.96 goals-against-average and a .932 save percentage.
