Leafs plan on being active

TheFourthPeriod.com

Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke expects to be fairly busy today, as the free agent doors open and he tries to improve his hockey club, reports the Toronto Sun.

According to the paper, the Leafs have between $12 million and $15 million to spend before hitting next season's $56.8 million salary cap.

Burke is believed to be looking for a top-six forward, a physical third-line player and a reliable defenseman.

The Sun suggests the Leafs will go after Daniel and Henrik Sedin, but their price tags might be too high. Instead, the Leafs might turn their attention to Mike Cammalleri.

On the blueline, Mike Komisarek, Francois Beauchemin and Mattias Ohlund are atop Toronto's target list.

The Leafs may also go after the likes of Dennis Seidenberg, Brian Gionta, Eric Cole, Colton Orr and Chris Neil.
