Leafs sign Blake to five-year deal

  TFP has learned that the Toronto Maple Leafs have signed unrestricted free agent winger Jason Blake to a five-year, $20 million contract.

Blake, 33, scored a career-high 40 goals and added 29 assists in 82 games with the New York Islanders last season.

The native of Moorhead, MN, has played in 508 career NHL games with the Los Angeles Kings and Islanders, and has accumulated 134 goals, 152 assists and 304 penalty minutes.

He will earn an average of $4 million per season.
