Malone arrested on DUI, cocaine charges
Tampa Bay Lightning left wing Ryan Malone was arrested Saturday morning on charges of driving under the influence and cocaine possession.
Malone, 34, was arrested at 5:40am ET on Platt Street and Rome Avenue S in Tampa, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's report.
"We are aware of the situation concerning Ryan Malone this morning," Lightning GM Steve Yzerman said in a statement. "Ryan will not travel with the team to Washington today, but beyond that we cannot comment further at this time."
Malone was being held on $2,500 bond.
In 57 games with the Lightning this season, Malone has registered five goals and 10 assists for 15 points, as well as 67 penalty minutes.
Malone, who has one-year left on his contract, has a limited no-trade clause where he can list up to 12 teams he will accept a move to.
