Kubina to be traded
TheFourthPeriod.com

Pavel Kubina's second stint with the Tampa Bay Lightning is coming to an end, as the veteran defenseman is set to be traded in the coming days.

Kubina, who owns a limited no-trade clause, was held off the ice this morning, as the Lightning wants to prevent the possibility of an injury before trading him.

Lightning GM Steve Yzerman addressed the local media earlier and indicated that the team has asked Kubina to submit a list of clubs he'd accept a trade to.

Kubina, 34, is in the final year of his contract and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Several teams are looking to add a defenseman before the Feb. 27 trade deadline, including the Philadelphia Flyers, Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks.

In 52 games with the Lightning so far this season, Kubina has registered three goals and eight assists for 11 points, along with 59 penalty minutes.
