According to the St. Petersburg Times, former Ottawa Senators president and CEO Roy Mlakar is interested in the Lightning's CEO job.
"I definitely want to get back in the game," Mlakar told the paper. "I think (Tampa Bay) is a great franchise."
Mlakar, 59, spent 13 seasons with the Senators, two with the Pittsburgh Penguins as COO and was president of the Los Angeles Kings for two seasons, playing a role in bringing Wayne Gretzky to California.
Former Dallas Stars president Jim Lites may also be a candidate for the position.
It's believed once a new CEO is brought in, the Lightning will begin a round of house cleaning.
Various reports suggest GM Brian Lawton's tenure with the club is in jeopardy.
Lawton's in the final year of his contract and it's unclear if he'll be re-signed once a new CEO is named.
