With the green light to add to the roster, Lightning GM Brian Lawton is evaluating his roster and looking for a top-six forward to add to the team.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, Tampa Bay has interest in Blue Jackets left wing Raffi Torres.
Torres, 28, has registered 18 goals and 11 assists in 59 games with the Blue Jackets this season.
The Toronto native is in the final year of his contract and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1.
Lawton has indicated that he's interested in adding a player to his lineup, and Torres is a highly coveted player who will command a second-round draft pick and a prospect, at least.
The Boston Bruins, Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals are also believed to be interested in Torres.
