The Tampa Bay Lightning is still searching for a top-six winger and the team continues to pursue unrestricted free agent left wing Alex Tanguay.
Tanguay, who made $5.375 million last season, has received interest from the likes of the Lightning, Phoenix Coyotes, New York Islanders and Edmonton Oilers, but it's been widely reported that his asking price is more than teams are willing to offer.
According to one league executive, the asking price of around $4.25 million is about $1 million "higher than most teams are willing to pay right now."
The Bolts would like to sign Tanguay to a one-year contract to play alongside Vincent Lecavalier.
It's uncertain when a decision will be made.
