TheFourthPeriod.com

The Tampa Bay Lightning has bought out the contract of left wing Vaclav Prospal.

The Bolts will pay two-thirds Prospal's remaining salary spread out over the next six seasons. Prospal will be paid $7 million at a cap hit of $1.167 million a year.

The move saves the Lightning $2.33 million in salary per season.

In 82 games with the Lightning last season, Prospal registered 19 goals and 26 assists for 45 points.
