Blues trade Polak to Leafs for Gunnarsson

The St. Louis Blues have traded defenseman Roman Polak to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for defenseman Carl Gunnarsson and the 94th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft.

Polak, 28, registered four goals and nine assists for 13 points, along with 71 penalty minutes, in 72 games with the Blues this past season.

In 424 career NHL regular-season games, all with St. Louis, Polak has accumulated 13 goals and 66 assists for 79 points, as well as 319 penalty minutes.

Gunnarsson, 27, tallied three goals and 14 assists for 17 points in 80 games with Toronto this season.

In 304 career NHL regular-season games, all with the Maple Leafs, Gunnarsson has registered 15 goals and 71 assists for 86 points.
