Blues would move goalie Elliott

The St. Louis Blues have the luxury of being very deep between the pipes, which has allowed GM Doug Armstrong to shop goalie Brian Elliott.

Elliott, 28, is in the final year of his contract and is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

The native of Newmarket, Ontario, has a salary cap hit of $1.8 million, though he's making $1.9 million this season.

Elliott has a 2-0-1 record so far this season for the Blues, posting a 2.05 goals-against-average and a .925 save percentage.

The goalie market is fairly thin at this point in the season, especially after the Edmonton Oilers signed free agent Ilya Bryzgalov on Friday, and trading Elliott might not happen until much later in the season.
