Blues ink center Lapierre

The St. Louis Blues have signed unrestricted free agent center Maxim Lapierre to a two-year, $2.2 million contract.

Lapierre, 28, registered four goals and six assists for 10 points and 45 penalty minutes in 48 games with the Vancouver Canucks last season.

The native of St. Leonard, Quebec, has played in 463 career NHL regular-season games with the Montreal Canadiens, Anaheim Ducks and Canucks, and has accumulated 54 goals and 59 assists for 113 points, with 476 penalty minutes.

He was originally drafted by the Habs in the second-round (61st overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Lapierre will earn a salary of $1 million next season and $1.2 million in 2014-15.
