The St. Louis Blues have acquired goaltender Jaroslav Halak from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for center Lars Eller and right wing Ian Schultz.

Halak, 25, posted a 26-13-5 record in 45 games with the Habs this past year, along with a 2.40 goals-against-average and a .940 save percentage.

"Jaroslav's play in this year's regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs was remarkable," said Blues president John Davidson. "He has had very impressive numbers in the NHL and we are thrilled that he will be wearing the Bluenote for us."

The Bratislava, Slovakia native was originally drafted by Montreal in the 9th round (271st overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Eller, 21, collected two goals in seven games with the Blues this season. He picked up 18 goals and 39 assists for 57 points in 70 games with Peoria of the AHL.

The native of Rodovre, Denmark, was originally drafted 13th overall by the Blues in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Schultz, 20, accumulated 24 goals and 31 assists for 55 points in 70 games with the Calgary Hitmen (WHL).

The Blues' third round, 87th overall, selection in 2008 Schultz has an older brother, Jeff, who plays with the Washington Capitals.
