The St. Louis Blues are expected to trade veteran left wing Paul Kariya by the March 3 trade deadline, reports the Ottawa Sun.
Kariya, who is in the final year of his contract, is making $6 million this season and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1.
According to the Sun, the Vancouver Canucks are among the teams supposedly interested in Kariya.
In 43 games with the Blues so far this season, Kariya has registered 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points.
TFP has learned that Blues VP of Player Personnel Doug Armstrong, who will take over at St. Louis' new GM next season, is currently scouting Eastern Conference teams and a deal, the Sun claims, isn't likely until after the Olympic break.
