Sharks a destination for Doan?

If Shane Doan ever accepts a trade out of Arizona, the San Jose Sharks would like to be seriously considered as a suitor for the veteran forward.

The Ottawa Sun reported on Sunday that the Sharks have long coveted Doan and have tried to acquire him at the trade deadline the last "six or seven years."

Doan, 40, has a full no-movement clause and can dictate where he ends up, if he ever accepts a trade from the Coyotes.

It is too early to tell whether or not Doan would consider a move, but with the Coyotes sitting second-last in the NHL, it's something he can think about later in the season.

In 27 games with the Coyotes so far this season, Doan has registered three goals and six assists for nine points, along with 18 penalty minutes.
