Sharks acquire Reimer from Maple Leafs

The San Jose Sharks have acquired goaltender James Reimer and forward Jeremy Morin from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for goalie Alex Stalock, forward Ben Smith and a 2018 conditional fourth-round draft pick.

Reimer, 27, posted an 11-12-7 record with the Leafs this season, along with a 2.49 goals-against-average and a .918 save percentage.

In 207 career NHL regular-season, to date, all with the Leafs, Reimer has picked up an 85-76-23 record with 11 shutouts, a 2.84 goals-against-average and a .914 save percentage.

He was originally drafted by Toronto in the fourth-round, 99th overall, of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Stalock, 28, has split his season between the Sharks and their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda.

In 13 games with the Sharks, he has a 3-5-2 record and 2.94 goals-against-average (GAA). In 62 career NHL games with the Sharks, he owns a 24-19-7 record with a 2.37 GAA.

Stalock was originally selected by San Jose in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Smith, 27, has also split his season between the Sharks and Barracuda. In 14 games with the Barracuda, he has collected 10 points (eight goals, two assists). The Winston-Salem, North Carolina native has also skated in six games with the Sharks this season.

In 181 NHL games between San Jose and the Chicago Blackhawks, Smith has recorded 25 goals and 19 assists for 44 career points.

He was originally selected by Chicago in the sixth round (169th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
