According to multiple sources close to the situation, the Sharks will have to do some significant convincing if they want to ship Thornton out of town, as he has no interest in moving.
It has been widely reported that teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs have been speaking with the Sharks about Thornton, however two separate sources indicated that discussions have never entered a serious stage.
TFP has also been informed that the Sharks have not yet approached Thornton about waiving his no-movement clause.
Sharks GM Doug Wilson, however, is expected to explore the trade market on left wing Patrick Marleau.
Marleau also owns a no-movement clause, but he and the Sharks have discussed his future with the organization and it's believed he would be open to accept a deal out of California.
