Sharks interested in Del Zotto?

As the New York Rangers continue their attempts to trade defenseman Michael Del Zotto, it appears the San Jose Sharks could be one team in the mix.

Elliotte Friedman of CBC, in his latest 30 Thoughts column, suggests the Sharks are interested in Del Zotto

The Ottawa Senators, Carolina Hurricanes, Edmonton Oilers and Buffalo Sabres have all reportedly had conversations with the Rangers about Del Zotto, and it appears New York GM Glen Sather is getting closer to making a move.

The Sharks have been on the lookout for a mobile defenseman for some time, and might zero in on Del Zotto, whose price tag has dropped since the season started.

Sather is looking to improve his roster and might be trying to package Del Zotto in a deal for an upgrade in another area on his club, a move the Sharks might not have interest in.

Friedman also indicates the Sharks are in the market for a depth forward.
