The San Jose Sharks have acquired center Dominic Moore and a seventh round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a second round selection, previously acquired from Minnesota, in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Moore, 31, has played in 56 games this season with Tampa Bay, posting four goals and 15 assists for 19 points, with 48 penalty minutes.

"Dominic is an extremely versatile player that has performed in a lot of important playoff games the last two years," said Sharks GM Doug Wilson. "We feel that he is a great fit in several areas and his veteran presence will benefit our team greatly."

The native of Thornhill, Ontario has played in 507 NHL games with the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Toronto, Buffalo, Florida, Montreal and Tampa Bay, and has accumulated 67 goals and 112 assists for 179 points, with 343 penalty minutes.

Moore was originally drafted in the third round (95th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft by the Rangers.
