The San Jose Sharks have acquired forward Travis Moen and defenseman Kent Huskins from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for prospects Timo Pielmeier and Nick Bonino, and a 2009 conditional fourth-round draft pick.
Moen, 26, played in 63 games with Anaheim this year, scoring four goals and 11 assists, with 77 penalty minutes.
He has appeared in 343 career NHL games, and has accumulated 26 goals and 25 assists for 51 points, with 473 penalty minutes.
Huskins, 29, played in 33 games with Anaheim this season, registering two goals, four assists and 27 penalty minutes.
Huskins was drafted by Anaheim in the sixth round (156th overall) of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He has played in 142 NHL games (all with Anaheim).
Bonino, 20, is in his sophomore season at Boston University (BU). He was drafted by San Jose in the sixth round (173rd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Pielmeier, 19, has earned a 29-9-0 record with a 2.62 goals-against average (GAA) and .916 save percentage (SV%) in 41 games this season with the second-place Shawinigan-Cataractes of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). He was drafted by San Jose in the third round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft (83rd overall).
The conditional pick San Jose acquired is contingent on the Sharks' playoff performance and if the team re-signs either player. At the same time, if the Ducks re-sign either player in the summer, the pick would be returned to San Jose.
