The San Jose Sharks have been looking for a backup goaltender for most of the season, and their efforts continue, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
The Sharks have roughly $1.6 million in available salary cap space to play with, but it's unclear whom the team is targeting.
TFP has reportedly throughout the season that the Sharks have expressed interest in Winnipeg Jets netminder Michael Hutchinson and Sharks GM Doug Wilson could cycle back if he hasn't already.
The Mercury News lists Philadelphia Flyers goaltenders Steve Mason and Michal Neuvirth as targets, but suggests a deal may be tough given the Flyers are in a race for a playoff spot in the East.
Sharks backup goalie Aaron Dell has heard the trade speculation and understands there's a possibility he may lose his job for the rest of the season with the big club, but is doing his best to focus on his game.
"I don't really pay attention to it too much. I see it once in a while, but the rumors always come out around this time," Dell told the Mercury News. "I just try to not worry about, it's something I don't really have control over."
