PPenguins still exploring trade market

The Pittsburgh Penguins are keeping an eye on the trade market and could make a move or two before today's 3pm ET trade deadline.

Having already acquired defenseman Justin Schultz from the Edmonton Oilers over the weekend, the Penguins are still looking to bolster their blueline.

The Penguins are also shopping forward Sergei Plotnikov and goalie Jeff Zatkoff.

"We'll keep the door open until 3 o'clock," Penguins GM Jim Rutherford told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Rutherford also told the Post-Gazette there is "a little bit of a market" for Plotnikov, who wants to be traded.

"Sometimes, the last 24 hours [before the deadline], a name or two pops up that you haven't heard before," Rutherford said. "Or something turns in a different direction that you thought was going somewhere else.

"We'll just keep checking around and see what’s going on."
