Sutter signs two-year contract
TheFourthPeriod.com

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed restricted free agent forward Brandon Sutter to a two-year, $6.6 million contract.

TFP reported earlier today that the two sides were nearing a new agreement.

Sutter, 25, registered 13 goals and 13 assists for 26 points in 81 games with the Penguins last season.

Sutter spent four seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes before being traded to Pittsburgh with Brian Dumoulin and a 2012 first-round draft pick (Derrick Pouliot) for Jordan Staal on June 22, 2012.

In his six-year NHL career, Sutter has accumulated 77 goals and 75 assists for 152 points in 415 career games.

Sutter was originally drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the first round (11th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
