The Pittsburgh Penguins have claimed left wing Taylor Pyatt off waivers from the New York Rangers.

Pyatt, 32, registered one assist and 10 penalty minutes, along with a minus-9 rating, in 22 games with the Rangers this season.

In 825 career NHL regular-season games with the New York Islanders, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks, Phoenix Coyotes and Rangers, to date, Pyatt has accumulated 136 goals and 140 assists for 276 points, along with 420 penalty minutes.

His most productive offensive season came in 2006-07 with the Canucks, when he tallied 23 goals and 14 assists for 37 points.

The native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, was originally drafted eighth-overall by the Islanders in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
