Crosby visits spine specialist
TheFourthPeriod.com

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby traveled to California on Friday to visit with Dr. Robert S. Bray, a neurological spine specialist and founding director and CEO of the D.I.S.C. Sports and Spine Center, as part of his continuing treatment program.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the 24-year-old is expected to undergo a series of tests with Dr. Bray.

Crosby accompanied his teammates on their trip to Florida last weekend and skated with the club for two days. He then consulted with Dr. Ted Carrick, a specialist in chiropractic neurology, early this week.

"Sidney is meeting with some of the top specialists in the country as he continues his recovery," Penguins GM Ray Shero said in a statement.

The star forward has not played since Dec. 5 because of concussion-like symptoms.

In other news, enforcer Arron Asham has been diagnosed with a concussion after suffering symptoms during the Pens' 6-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning last weekend, and is out indefinitely.
