The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Jay McKee to a one-year, $800,000 contract.
McKee, 31, had one goal and seven assists and 44 penalty minutes for the St. Louis Blues in 69 games last season.
McKee has played 740 career NHL regular-season games and has accumulated 20 goals, 95 assists and 568 penalty minutes.
