Coyotes acquire Erat from Capitals

The Phoenix Coyotes have acquired left wing Martin Erat and center John Mitchell from the Washington Capitals for defenseman Rostislav Klesla, center Chris Brown and a 2014 fourth-round draft pick.

Erat, 32, requested to be traded earlier in the season and has been waiting for a deal all year.

In 53 games with the Capitals this season, Erat registered one goal and 23 assists for 24 points.

Klesla, 31, tallied one goal, three assists and 24 penalty minutes in 25 games with the Coyotes this season.
