Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Rostislav Klesla is in talks with Ocelari Trinec of the Czech Extraliga and should be joining the team as early as Friday.
Klesla, 30, joins Edmonton Oilers defenseman Ladislav Smid, who has already signed on with Trinec.
In 65 games with the Coyotes last season, Klesla registered three goals and 10 assists for 13 points, with a plus-13 rating and 54 penalty minutes.
Once his deal is official, Klesla will become the 16th NHLer to sign in the Czech Republic, joining the likes of Jaromir Jagr, Tomas Plekanec, Ales Hemsky and Andrew Ference.
