Coyotes sign veteran defenseman Aucoin

The Phoenix Coyotes have signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Adrian Aucoin to a one-year contract.

Aucoin, 35, played in 81 games with the Calgary Flames last season, registering 10 goals and 24 assists for 34 points.

In 851 career NHL games with the Vancouver Canucks, Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Islanders, Chicago Blackhawks and Flames, Aucoin has accumulated 108 goals and 228 assists for 336 points.

He was originally drafted by the Canucks in the fifth-round (117th overall) of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft.

Yesterday, the Coyotes signed unrestricted free agent forward Vernon Fiddler and goalie Jason LaBarberra to two-year contracts.
