The Phoenix Coyotes have traded center Olli Jokinen and a 2009 third-round pick to the Calgary Flames for forwards Matthew Lombardi and Brandon Prust, and a first-round draft pick.

As part of the trade, the Flames own the option of selecting whether the first-round pick is in 2009 or 2010.

The Coyotes have also traded goalie Mikael Tellqvist to the Buffalo Sabres for a 2010 fourth-round draft pick.

"We are excited to add two young players in Lombardi and Prust to our lineup," said Coyotes GM Don Maloney. "Lombardi's speed and scoring touch along with Prust's physical style should fit our team very well."

Jokinen, 30, recorded 21 goals and 21 assists in 57 games with the Coyotes this season.

In 780 career NHL games with Los Angeles, the New York Islanders, Florida and the Coyotes, Jokinen has accumulated 229 goals, 274 assists and 776 penalty minutes.

Lombardi, 26, has recorded nine goals and 21 assists in 50 games with the Flames this season.

Lombardi, who was selected by Calgary in the 3rd round (90th overall) of the 2002 Entry Draft, has recorded 65 goals and 102 assists for 167 points in 347 career NHL games with the Flames.

Prust, 24, has recorded one goal, one assist and 79 penalty minutes in 25 games for Calgary this season.

A native of London, Ontario, Prust was selected in the third round (70th overall) of the 2004 Entry Draft.

Tellqvist, 29, has posted 7-5-1 record in 15 games with the Coyotes this season, with a 2.86 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.

In 107 career NHL games with Toronto and the Coyotes, Tellqvist has posted a record of 43-40-10 with a 3.04 GAA, a .897 SV% and six shutouts.
