Coyotes, Rangers complete 5-player trade

  The Phoenix Coyotes have traded right wing Fredrik Sjostrom, goaltender David LeNeveu and left wing Josh Gratton to the New York Rangers for left wing Marcel Hossa and goalie Al Montoya.

Hossa, 26, has notched one goals, seven assists and 24 penalty minutes in 36 games played with the Rangers this season. He led the Rangers with a plus-8 rating.

A native of Ilava, Slovakia, Hossa was selected by Montreal in the first-round (16th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

   
Montoya, 23, posted a record of 16-8-3 with a 2.54 goals against average and a .908 save percentage in 31 games this season for the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack.

A native of Glenview, Illinois, Montoya was selected by the Rangers in the first-round (6th overall) of the 2004 Entry Draft, has posted a record of 66-34-4 with a 2.46 GAA, a .910 SV% and eight shutouts in 119 career AHL games.

Sjostrom, 24, recorded 10 goals, nine assists and 14 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Coyotes this season.

In 261 career games with the Coyotes, Sjostrom registered 32 goals, 41 assists and 126 penalty minutes. The Coyotes selected Sjostrom in the first-round (11th overall) of the 2001 Entry Draft.

LeNeveu, 24, posted a record of 9-7-3 with a 2.58 GAA, a .911 SV% and one shutout this season with the Coyotes AHL affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage. LeNeveu has appeared in 21 career NHL games with the Coyotes, going 5-9-0 with a 3.38 GAA and a .888 SV%. He was originally drafted by Phoenix in the 2nd round (46th overall) of the 2002 Entry Draft.

Gratton, 25, recorded five assists, nine assists and 124 penalty minutes in 38 games with San Antonio (AHL) this season. He also appeared in one game with the Coyotes and collected five PIM.
