Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Michael Del Zotto understands it's that time of year where trade rumors pick up significantly.
With the trade deadline one week away, Del Zotto, who is in the final year of his contract and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1, knows what to expect.
"It happens every year," Del Zotto told CSN Philadelphia. "It's not like it's the first time. Iíve been traded before. It is what it is. It's a business.
"You realize that pretty early in your career. I understand where I'm at as far as my contract, being a UFA this summer."
Del Zotto, 26, could be moved by the deadline, as several teams are in the market for a quality defenseman. And he may not be the lone Flyer to move.
If the Flyers decide to sell parts of their team, Del Zotto could be dealt, along with veteran defenseman Mark Streit, and one of Philadelphia's two goalies, Steve Mason or Michal Neuvirth.
"It's a business and these things are out of your control," Del Zotto said.
In 32 games with the Flyers so far this season, Del Zotto has registered four goals and six assists for 10 points, and 18 penalty minutes.
