Flyers leaning towards selling?

The Flyers are slipping further and further away from post-season play and the Philadelphia Inquirer reports the team looks to be sellers from the trade deadline.

The Flyers have already been trying to move forward Sam Gagner, whom they placed on waivers, and will continue to do so, while defenseman Evgeny Medvedev could also be on the move.

Gagner and Medvedev are in the final year of their respective contracts and can become unrestricted free agents July 1.

Flyers GM Ron Hextall has also been dangling the likes of forwards Brayden Schenn, R.J. Umberger and Matt Read, and defenseman Mark Streit, for some time.

With the market on defensemen thinning, teams could look at Streit as a legitimate option prior to the Feb. 29 deadline.

Streit, 38, has one-year left on his contract beyond this season.
