Del Zotto signs with Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Michael Del Zotto to a one-year, $1.3 million contract.

Del Zotto, 24, registered three goals and 13 assists for 16 points, along with 18 penalty minutes, in 67 games with the New York Rangers and Nashville Predators last season.

He is coming off a two-year, $5.1 million contract.

In 317 career NHL regular-season games with the Rangers and Predators, Del Zotto has accumulated 27 goals and 99 assists for 126 points.

Originally drafted 20th overall by the Rangers in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Del Zotto was traded to the Predators on Jan. 22, 2014 in exchange for defenseman Kevin Klein.
