The Philadelphia Flyers have signed goaltender Steve Mason to a three-year, $12.3 million contract extension, TFP has confirmed.

Mason, 25, was scheduled to become a restricted free agent July 1, prior to signing his new contract.

The native of Oakville, Ontario, has posted a 19-11-5 record with a 2.48 goals-against-average and a .917 save percentage in 36 games with the Flyers so far this season.

To date, Mason has a career 119-112-32 record with a 2.82 goals-against-average, a .906 save percentage and 20 shutouts with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Flyers.

Mason, the 2008-09 Rookie of the Year, was drafted by the Blue Jackets in the third-round (69th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

The signing was first reported by Pierre LeBrun of ESPN and TSN.
