Flyers GM now on the clock
TheFourthPeriod.com

Three games into the season, the Philadelphia Flyers made a coaching change; a move they thought would shift the club back to a winning attitude.

The Flyers, however, haven't improved, and while injuries have hampered their depth and firepower, the team is still 1-7-0 in their first eight games.

Though upper-management denies it, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports Flyers GM Paul Holmgren is on the hot seat and could be replaced if the team doesn't turn its season around.

Peter Luukko, president of the Flyers' parent company, Comcast-Spectacor, told the Inquirer Holmgren wasn't next on the chopping block, but the paper insists he is.

The Flyers hired Ron Hextall as assistant GM, a position he had with the Los Angeles Kings, and many believe he will take over for Holmgren, once the team makes a move.
