"It's all or nothing now," Talbot told the Inquirer.
"We felt we were [close] at the start of December as well - and then we don't talk for a month. It's definitely been a roller-coaster ride since the beginning."
Talbot, who scored a career-high 19 goals last season with Philly, skated in 12 games for Ilves Tampere of Finland's SM-Liiga. He registered three goals and three assists for six points.
The 28-year-old has started skating at the Flyers' facility in Voorhees, NJ. Though unable to use the team's specific area, he's happy to be back with his teammates.
"It's great to be back in the facility. . . . Hopefully thinking you're getting ready for the season," he said.
The NHL and NHLPA made significant progress over the last week, but around seven main issues remain unsettled.
Roughly 13 hours worth of separate mediation sessions took place on Friday, and that process will resume this morning.
