Simmonds returns from Europe
TheFourthPeriod.com

Philly.com has reported that forward Wayne Simmonds is on his way back from the Czech Republic to return home to the United States.

Simmonds, 24, is citing family reasons for his decision to leave the Liberec Tigers. He added that his choice had nothing to with racial taunts he received a few weeks ago during his stay in the Czech Republic.

Eight fans reportedly chanted racial taunts at Simmonds during a contest and are now expected to be charged with disorderly conduct and defamation of a nation, race or ethnic group.

In six games with the Tigers, Simmonds posted four goals and six points after collecting 28 goals and 21 assists for 49 points in 82 contests with the Flyers last season.
