However, when van Riemsdyk remained out of the lineup for some time, Leafs GM Brian Burke reportedly lost interest, and now a new team has surfaced as being interested in the second-overall selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
As discussed on a segment on TSN's Insider Trading, the Dallas Stars have been linked to the young winger as the Flyers are allegedly interested in Stars enforcer Steve Ott, who has also caught the eye of the Vancouver Canucks and Maple Leafs.
Conversations have been held between both clubs, but the Stars would need to offer much more in return to pry van Riemsdyk out of Philadelphia.
The Flyers were initially dangling van Riemsdyk as trade bait when the team was shopping for help on the blueline, however, defensemen Pavel Kubina and Nicklas Grossman have since been acquired to fill the void.
In 40 games with the Flyers this season, van Riemsdyk has collected 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points.
