Could Brind'Amour return to Philly?
TheFourthPeriod.com

Ten years ago today, Rod Brind'Amour was traded by the Philadelphia Flyers to the Carolina Hurricanes in a deal for Keith Primeau.

The deal hurt Brind'Amour immensely at the time, as the now 39-year-old thought he would spend his entire career with the Flyers.

Fast forward to the 2009-10 season and Brind'Amour, who just lost his captaincy with the Hurricanes to youngster Eric Staal, could make a return to the City of Brotherly Love.

The Camden Courier-Post suggests the Hurricanes could deal Brind'Amour back to the Flyers.

Brind'Amour has one-year left on his contract beyond this season and with the Hurricanes moving in a younger direction, it's very possible the team looks to deal him before the Mar. 3 trade deadline.

"I loved Philadelphia and I loved being a Flyer; I don't know if there is a better sports town in the country," Brind'Amounr told the Courier-Post.

It's an interesting thought, but I'm not sure whether the Flyers have the necessary cap space to accomodate his salary. Brind'Amour could be a very valuable asset for any playoff team, and I'm also sure the Flyers wouldn't be the only team interested in him. -- David Pagnotta
