Flyers eyeing defenseman Tollefsen

The Flyers aren't finished tinkering with their lineup, as the club is interested in free agent defenseman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Tollefsen, 25, was in Philadelphia over the weekend and passed a physical Saturday.

"He is one of the guys we have interest in," Flyers GM Paul Holmgren told the Inquirer.

"A decision will not be made anytime soon. It is July. We don't start training camp until the middle of September, and we have time.

"We're doing due diligence."

Tollefsen played in only 19 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets last season and has been riddled with injuries over the last two years.

It's believed the Flyers are looking to shed some extra salary in order to sign another defenseman and possibly add a scoring winger.

When Joffrey Lupul was traded to Anaheim last month, he indicated that he knew the Flyers were looking to trade one of their higher-priced forwards.

"I figured something was going to happen with one of our forwards," Lupul said at the time of the trade, "whether myself, (Danny) Briere, (Simon) Gagne or (Scott) Hartnell."
